Mr. Harig submitted the following order: Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Major Griswold is detained from this House on account of sickness. Which was adopted. Mr. Chaisty submitted the following order: Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal of the House that Mr. Cooper, of the Baltimore City delegation, is unavoid- ably absent. Which was adopted. On motion of Mr. Hardcastle, Leave was granted to the Committee on Vaccination to introduce a bill, to repeal chapter 269, laws of 1864, and. chapter 6, laws of 1867, title "Small-pox," and to re-enact the same with amendments. On motion of Mr. Smith, Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro- duce a bill, to repeal chapter 60, of the Laws of 1864, creat- ing certain territory in Dorchester into election district No. 14. On motion of Mr. Markland, Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro- duce a bill, to return to the Western National Bank of Bal- timore City, certain taxes paid in error. On motion of Mr. Turner, Leave was granted to the Committee on Manufactures to introduce a bill, to regulate the hours per day, in the fac- tories of Maryland, for children under the age of sixteen. On motion of Mr. Groome, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, giving the sanction of the General Assem- bly to a bequest in the last will and testament of George deaden, late of Cecil county, deceased, to the Methodist Protestant Church at Bayview, in Cecil county.
