Mr. Young, of Washington, presented the petition of
Tobias Johnson and thirty other citizens of Clearspring,
Washington county, protesting against the passage of a bill
authorizing the Methodist Protestant Church of Williams-
port, to hold and dispose of certain church property.
Which was read and referred to the Washington delega-
tion,
Mr. McOolgan presented the petition of Joseph Everest,
soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a pension.
Which was read, and i referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions
Mr. Henkle presented the petition of John J. Bennett and
eighteen other merchants and business men of Baltimore
City, praying for the extension and improvement of the
county wharf for a wholesale market for the fruits and vege-
tables, and other agricultural productions of the State,
brought by water to the city for sale,
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.
Mr. Groome presented the petition of T. Russell and thir-
ty-two others, against the passage of a law preventing the
drifting of gill-nets in the water bounds, float and shore fisheries.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. McColgan presented the petition of Catharine Arnold,
asking for a pension.
Also,
The petition of Caleb Peregoy, asking for a pension.
Also,
The petition of Mary Phelps, asking for a pension.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.
Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, presented the petition of
John Jamison, asking for a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-sions.
Mr. Henkle presented the petition of E. W. Albaugh and.
fifty other commission merchants and produce dealers, pray-ing for the extension and improvement of the county wharf
as a public wholesale market for the sale of the agricultural
production of the State, brought to the city by water.
