Mr. Jamart presented the petition of George Rossmark
and one hundred and forty-six other citizens, asking the
abolishment of coopering in the Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.
Mr. Foard, of Baltimore county, presented the petition of
Andrew Logan, Peter Shriver and forty others, asking such
legislation as will compel the Baltimore and Harford Turn*
pike Company to place their road in a good and safe condi-
tion.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Litzinger presented the petition Priscilla Rutledge and
Nelly Hurt, asking for pensions.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr, Smith presented the petition of the registered voters of
District No. 14, of Dorchester county, asking to be re-
annexed to District No. 10, in said county,
Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delegation.
Mr. Johnson presented the petition of Henry Richardson
for compensation, for publishing in Salisbury advertiser the
list of defaulters, as per order of the Comptroller.
Which was read aud referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr Penington presented a petition from John Schofield,
John W. Davis, P. W. Ruby, G. W. Magee and eighty
others, asking the removal of stake-nets from the month of
the Sassafras River.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on th
Ohesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
Mr. Street presented the petition of Garrett Brown and
seventy-five other citizens of Baltimore and Harford counties,
asking the passage of a law requiring the Baltimore and
Harford County Turnpike Company to place their road in ft
good condition.
Also,
The petition of Thomas O. Weeks and fifty-two other citi-
zens of Harford county, asking the passage of a law requir-
ing the Baltimore and Harford County Turnpike Company
to place their road in a good and safe condition.
Which were severally read, and referred to the Select Committee on that subject.
