THURSDAY, February 1, 1872.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the
Chaplain,
Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Franklin, Parker, Phillips, Rowe, Delaplane, Miller, Routzahn, Riley, Streett, Hardcastle, Deweese,.McCosker, Ham-
ilton, T.H'., Hamilton, C. R., Jamart, Staylor, Stewart,
Travers, dark, of B. city. Kirk, Chaisty, Harig, McColgan,
Markland, Young, of Wash. co., Ardinger, Newcomer,
Whitson, Hilton, Riggs, dark, of Mont., Porter, Coles,
Robinette, Lamotte, L. A. J., Lamotte, H. H., Linthicum,
Johnson, Langrell—68.
The Speaker laid before the House the following communi-
cation :
OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS. ?
BALTIMORE, February 1, 1872. ^
-HON. ARTHUR P. GORMAN,
Speaker of the House of Delegates:
SIR—We have the honor of transmitting to you the report
of the transactions of the Board of Police Commissioners for
the City of Baltimore, for the years 1870 and 1171, which
we respectfully request you to lay before the House of Dele-
gates.
Very respectfully, your ob't servant,
WM. H. B. FUSSELBAUGH,
President.
Together with accompanying report.
Which were severally read and referred to the Commit-
tee on the Judiciary.
Mr. Litzinger presented the petition of-sundry citizens of
Montgomery county in favor of taxing the property of the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.
