Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill granting the assent of the General Assembly
of Maryland, to the bequest of Elijah Bishop to Win. F.
Brand, trustee for the improvement of St. Mary's Church of
Harford county.
On motion of Mr. Miller,
Leave was granted to the Frederick delegation to report a
bill; entitled an Act to authorize the County Commissioners
for Frederick county to subscribe to the capital stock of the
Liberty, Johnsville and Pike Creek Turnpike Road Com-
pany ; the Frederick and Buckeystown Turnpike Road Com-
pany, in Frederick county, and such other Turnpike Road
Companies whose roads are now constructed or in course of
construction in said county.
On motion of Mr. Langrell,
Leave was granted to the Wicomico and Somerset delega-
tions to introduce a bill, entitled an Act to empower Albert
Riel, a minor, to settle with his guardian, and take charge
of his property.
On motion of Mr. Markland,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Peabody Savings' Bank of
Baltimore.
On motion of Mr. Ardinger,
Leave was granted to the Washington delegation to
introduce a bill, entitled an Act repealing chapter 98,
Acts of 1867, relating to pedling agricultural implements in
"Washington county.
On motion of Mr. dark, of Baltimore City,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal sections 46, 47, 55 and 56, of Arti-
cle LXXV., of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" Pleading, Practice and Process ;" also the Act of the Gen-
eral Assembly, passed at January Session, 1870, chapter
420, entitled " An Act to amend the third section of the
75th Article of the Code of Public General Laws relating
to Pleading, Practice and Process, and enact a substitute
therefor."
Ou. motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore City delegation to in-
troduce a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 872, Article
IV , of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled '' City of
Baltimore," sub-title " Taxes and Loans," and to enact the
following in lieu thereof.
