Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,
on
The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 109, of
Article XI., of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Frede-
rick City, "'and to re-enact the same as follows :
Which was read the second time.
Also from the same Committee, reported favorably, on
The House bill, entitled an Act regulating fences in Emmittsburg District, in Frederick county.
Which was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Blake,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
report a bill supplement to an Act of 1870, incorporating the
Broadway and Locust Steam Ferry Company.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to license Measurers and
Counters of lumber in the City of Baltimore,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Timmons submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 4, strike out the words, "and fifty."
Which was adopted.
Said bill as amended, was ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to authorize the appoint-
ment of Weighers of Grain by the Governor,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Compton submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Line 2, section 1, strike out "one weigher," and insert
"two weighers. '
Strike out the word "the," in the first line, and insert
"each."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out section 6, and substitute the following :
Section 6. And be it enacted. That all grain arriving in
the City of Baltimore by steamers, sail vessels of all descrip-
tions, barges, canal boats or railroad cars, except that de-
livered through elevators, must be reported to the grain
