Your petitioner, therefore, prays your Honorable House, to so amend, alter, repeal or annul the said Act of incorpora- tion of the Broadway and Locust Point Steam Ferry Com- pany of Maryland, and the said supplementary act thereto,. that the privileges of which your petitioner has been de- prived thereby, and the ruinous damage and loss which he has sustained therefrom, may be secured again to him in common with all or any other Company or corporation, so that he may he enabled to carry on the business in which his means, his energies, and his time have been invested, de- voted, and expended, on an equal footing with this favored Company, and to the advantage, accommodation and benefit of the community. And your petitioner, as in duty bound, will ever pray, &c. J.HANKEY. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo- rations. Mr. Spencer presented the petition of sundry citizens of Kent county, against the proposed amendment of the char- ter of the Fire Insurance Company of Kent County. Which was read and referred to Messrs. Spencer, Earle and Williams. On motion by Mr. Denson, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to introduce a bill to incorporate the Mechanics' Sayings Bank, of Baltimore. Also, to the same committee, To introduce a bill to amend and expend sections 1 and 2 of the Act passed 1 February, 1846, entitled an Act to incor- porate the Trustees of St. Patrick's School, Fell's Point, in the City of Baltimore. On motion by Mr. Henry, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed- ings, to report a bill to make valid Deeds for land sold by non-resident Executors. Mr. Davis, from a Select Committee, reported favorably on The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 42 of Article III., of the Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, title " Circuit Court," and to re-enact the same with an amendment. Which was read the second time. |
