Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegate!.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to lay off streets in Balti-
more county, adjoining Baltimore city,
Was read the second time, and ordered to he engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to refund to Samuel B.
Hance and others a sum of money,
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
Mr. Stephenson called up
The bill, entitled an Act to amend the Western Maryland
Extension Railroad Company,
And submitted the following amendment:
Section 3. And be it enacted, That any extension of the
capital stock, or other property of said Western Maryland
Extension Railroad Company, from taxation by its charter,
or by any other law, be, and the same is hereby, repealed,
and the capital stock of said Company shall be liable to tax-
ation for State and county purposes, and the General As-
sembly reserves the right to change the mode of imposing
taxation on said Company as public policy may in the future
require.
Mr. Carroll moved to amend the amendment by striking
out the word "Bonds," in lines 2 and 6.
Which was adopted.
The vote recurring on the amendment, it was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was read the second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The House bill, entitled an Act for the better protection of
oysters, clams and terrapins in Synapuxent Bay, in Wor-
cester county,
Wat read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
