430 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 13, The House hill, relating to Williamsport, in Washington county, And the report was adopted Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, reported favorably, The House bill, entitled an Act to regulate the manufac- ture and sale of oils for illuminating purposes. Which was read the second time. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, reported favorably, The House bill, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Union Railroad Company. Said bill was read the second time. Mr. Longwell from a Select Committee, reported favorably, The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 139 and 141, of Article VII. of the Code of Public Local Laws of Car- roll county, title "New Windsor," and re-enact the same with amendments and sub-sections. Which was read the second time. Senate bill, entitled an Act to add an additional section to Article LXXXI. of the Code of Public General Laws of this State, title "Revenue and Taxes," sub-title "Assessments of stock for State purposes," Was read a third time and passed by yeas and, nays, as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Longwell, Blake, Miller, Compton, Stephenson, Carroll, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Deacon, Spencer, Earle, Steiner, Fields, Tuck, Henry, Wilson, Jump, Williams—20. NEGATIVE—None. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. Senate Joint Resolution authorizing his Excellency, the Governor, to issue a commission to the Hon. G. R. Dennis, as Senator elect to the Congress of the United States, Were read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. |
