Mr. Blake, from a Select Committee, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to pay to John Feast a sum of
money.
Which was read the first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.
Also, from the same Committee, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
purchase furniture for the Governor's Mansion.
Which was. read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to release -Stephen
T. Bradley, Samuel Phillips and Dr. Washington Finley,
Administrators of Lemuel Roberts, securities on the bond of
Noah O. Merchant, late Collector of State and County Taxes
for Queen Anne's county.
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act to transfer the sum of
money appropriated by chapter 383, section 1, of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1870, to the Elkton and Massey's
Railroad Company from said Company to the Middletown
and Elkton Railroad Company,
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The Senate bill, entitled an Act (to repeal the Act of 1870,
chapter 894, entitled an Act to amend the Acts of Assembly
of 1867, chapter 341, relating to the valuation and assess-
ment of property in this State,
Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Miller moved a call of the Senate,
When the following Senators responded:
Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford,
Claggett, Denson, Davis, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry,
Jump, Longwell, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman,
Steiner, Timmons, Wilson, Williams—22.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify the absent mem-
bers that their presence was required in the Senate Chamber..
On motion by Mr. Compton,
Further proceedings under the call were suspended.
The yeas and nays being demanded upon the engrossment
of said bill,
Said bill was ordtred to be engrossed, as follows:
