corporation of Mechanicstown, in Frederick county, Mary-
land, reported favorably thereon, and
Said hill was read the second time.
On motion by Henry,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Henry, Compton and Fields,
to introduce a bill to repeal sections 113, 144, 115, 116 and
117, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester
County," sub-title "Fish," regulating the taking and catch-
ing of fish in the waters of said county.
Mr. Davis presented the petition of John G. Cockey, and
Tour hundred and eighty citizens of Lutherville, relating to
the sale of liquor in said town.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
On motion by Mr. Davis,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill relating to the sale of intoxicating liquors in the
town of Lutherville.
Mr. Blake presented the application of Susannah Bond,
praying to be restored to the pension rolls.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Dennis presented the petition of James Reese, and
twenty-five other colored citizens of Somerset county, praying
that the educational facilities be extended to them.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill to confer additional powers upon the President and Managers of the Beaver Creek and South Moun-
tain Turnpike Company, authorizing tolls to be charged to
those using their road, and not passing through any toll-
gate, except when passing from one part of their farms to
another.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act,
passed at January Session, 1853, chapter 129, entitled an
Act to incorporate a company to construct a turnpike road
from Hagerstown, in Washington county, to the town of
Sharpsburg, and also an Act passed at January Session,
1861, chapter 150, entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Hagerstown and Sharpsburg Turnpike Company, passed
at January Session, 1853 chapter 129.
