1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 201 Mr, Henkle presented the petition of James Corner & Sons, and forty-three other dealers, exporters and importers offish, in Baltimore City, protesting against the re-enactment of the Inspection Laws, repealed at the last Session of the Legis- lature. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec- tions. Mr. Stone submitted the following order : Ordered, That the Committee on Ways and Means inquire into the expediency of repealing all laws exempting any property in this State from taxation, (except churches and cemeteries and bonds of the State,) and report by bill or otherwise. Which wag adopted. Mr. Streett submitted the following order : Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed to- examine into the returns and accounts of the Auctioneers in Baltimore City, with power to send for persons and papers,, and to report by bill or otherwise. Which was adopted, and Messrs. Streett, Cooper and Linthicurn, constituted said committee. On motion of Mr. Stewart, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to repeal and re-enact with amendments Article LXVII. of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Notaries Public,'' so that there shall be one Notary Public in the City of Baltimore who understands the German lan- guage. Also, The report of the Board of? Police Commissioners of Balti- more City, was ordered to by* printed. [See Document K.] On motion of Mr. Turner, Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to introduce a bill, to amend the charter of the Green Spring Avenue Company On motion of Mr Ardinger, Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro- duce a bill, entitled an Act to extend the provisions of chap- ter 15, of the Acts of 1864, and chapter 373 of the Acts of 1864, and the supplements thereto.
