SO, Leave was granted to the Committee on Manufactures to -introduce a bill, limiting the number of hours that children shall be employed in manufacturing and mechanical estab- lishments. On motion of Mr. Routzahn, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a hill, entitled an Act to add additional sections to Article XI. of the Code of Public Local Laws of Fred- erick county, relating to the powers and duties of the Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of Frederick, to follow section 177, added thereto by the Act of 1870, chap- iter 314. On motion of Mr. Turner, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to 'introduce a bill, to add an additional section to Article XVI. of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to Chancery. On motion of Mr. Baldwin, Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce -a bill, to repeal, amend and re-enact the Act passed at Jan- uary Session, 1870, entitled an Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Harford county to sell a part of the Poor- house farm, and to erect suitable buildings for the use of the ..paupers, and to levy a sum for that purpose. On motion of Mr. Linthicum, Leave was granted to Messrs, Linthicum, German and Riggs, to introduce a bill, for the relief of Wm. W. Wat- kins, Josiah Groves, Benjamin H. Dorsey, J. Wolfsberger, S. F. Cobb, Win. B. Collier, Samuel Burgess, H. E. Woot- ton, Wm. H. Scott, George Burgess, Beal Hehn and Rob- ert Wilson, sureties on the bond of Thomas McCrea, Jr., late Collector of State and county taxes of the first collec- tion district of Howard county. On motion of Mr. Smith, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means 'to introduce a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 186, Ar- ticle LXXXL of the Code of Public General Law&, title ""Revenue and Taxes," sub-title "Valuation and Assess- ment," known as the law of 1670, exempting mortgages -from taxation. On motion of Mr. Shipley, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to -introduce a bill, to repeal sections 1 and 4, of Article XIII. ot the Code of Public General Laws, and or re enact so -much thereof as relates to bastardy and fornication. |
