386 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 11, Davis, Spates, Fields, Wilson—9. Jump, On motion by Mr. Jump, Leave was granted to Messrs. Jump, Tuck and Steiner, to. report a bill to empower the Commissioners of Talbot county to divide the election districts into election precincts. On motion by Mr. Wilson, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to report a bill to pay to W. Wheeler, attorney of Wm. De Caux, a sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to which had been referred The House bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Mary- land Academy of Arts, reported favorably thereon, and Said bill was read the second time. Mr. Crawford, from a Select Committee, to which had been referred The House bill, entitled an Act to protect oysters within the waters of Wicomico county, reported favorably thereon, and Said bill was read the second time. Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, to which had been referred The House bill, entitled an Act to add an additional sec- tion to Article XI., of the Code of Public Local Laws of Frederick county, relating to the powers and duties of the Mayor and City Council, reported favorably thereon, and Said bill was read the second time. Mr. Downs, from a Select Committee, to which leave had been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to protect the fish and terrapins in the tributaries of the Potomac River, lying in St. Mary's county. Which was read the first time. Mr. Jump, from a Select Committee, to which leave had been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County Commis- sioners of Talbot county, in their discretion, to divide the districts of said county into election precincts. Which was read the first time. |
