Mr. Litzinger presented the petition of Catherine Coun,
Rachel Ensor and others, asking for pensions.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
ions.
Mr. Newcomer presented the petition of A. B. Evers, J.
D. Eakle, R. W. Finley, D. Summers and two hundred
others, praying for an act to prohibit the granting of license
for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer
m Leitersburg District No. 9, in Washington-county.
Which was read and referred to the Washington delega-
tion.
Mr. Smith presented the petition of William Pritchell and
seventy other citizens of Dorchester county, for protection
for oysters in Fishing Bay, Dorchester county.
Also,
The petition of John Murphy and others, asking that Dis-
trict No. 14, on Holland's Island, Dorchester county, be
reannexed to Straits or No. 10, in said county.
Also,
The petition of O. O. Fallin and eighty other citizens,
asking for protection tor oysters in Fishing Bay and Hongo
River, in Dorchester county.
Which were severally read and referred to the Dorches-
ter delegation.
Mr. Wilmer presented the petition of Wm. Welch and
fifty other citizens of Kent county, asking for increase of
jurisdiction of Justices of the Pence, and also asking fur in-
crease of bonds for constables.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary,
Mr. Staylor presented the petition of A. Wenger and
ninety-one other citizens, asking the abolishment of cooper-
ing in the Penitentiary.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-factures '
Mr. Travers presented the petition of George Robinson and.
one hundred and four others, remonstrating against any
change of the present Mortgage law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary..
Mr. Streett presented the petition of J. J. Michael and
twenty-eight other citizens of Harford county, opposing any
change in the Wild Fowl law.
