for the use of the said railroad ; Provided, that such bridge
or bridges, and the fixtures thereof, shall be built upon such
plan, and in such condition, and with such necessary draw-
er draws, as not to impede navigation, and so as to allow the'
free passage, without any unnecessary delay, through such
draw or draws, of all vessels that are unable to pass under
such bridge or bridges ; and that the said company is hereby
authorized to purchase and hold and maintain any existing
bridge or bridges over any such navigable water, and to use
the same for the crossing of their said railroad, or any branch
thereof, anything in any act of Assembly authorizing the
building of any such bridge or bridges to the contrary not-
withstanding.

The House bill, entitled an Act to punish the shooting of
foxes in Somerset county,
Reported favorably thereon, and said bill was read the-

Mr. Williams, from a Select Committee, to which had
been referred,
The House bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Calvert county to re-district said county,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Dennis,
Leave was granted to the Select Committee heretofore ap-
pointed to report a bill, entied an Act to settle and adjust
the boundary line between the States of Maryland and Vir-
ginia.
Mr. Dennis, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
been granted, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to settle and adjust the boundary
line between Virginia and Maryland.
Which was read the first time, and
Ordered to be printed.
Mr. Downs submitted the following message :
