Said bill as amended was read the second time. Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee, to which had been' referred, The House bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County Commissioners for Frederick county to subscribe to the capi- tal stock of certain Railroad and Turnpike Road Compa- nies in said county, reported favorably thereon, and Said bill was read the second time. Also from the same Committee, The House bill entitled an act to prevent swine from run- ning at large in the streets, lanes and alleys of the Village of" Burkittsville. Reported said bill, with the following amendments. AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Section 3, line 3, strike out "twenty" and insert "five."" Section 3, add at end of section the following words, "or together with the fine and costs as prescribed in the first sec- tion of this Act, and in default of payment of the said fine and impounding fee, the said swine may be sold to satisfy the same." Section 2, line S, insert after the word "oath" the word' "on affirmation." Section 1, line 3, strike out the words "quarter of a," and insert half." Section 1, line 4, insert before the words "the village," the words "the square in." Section 4, line 2, add after the word "applied" the follow- ing, "one-half to the informer and the balance." Which were severally read and adopted. Said bill as amended, was read the second time.
