The petition of' twenty-seven citizens of Allegany county,
asking a pension for Maria Burton, of said county.
Reported unfavorably thereon, and
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
Wag postponed until Wednesday next.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliver-
ed the following message:
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
March 8, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We respectfully request your Honorable Body to return
the Senate bill, entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
licenses for the sale of spirituous liquors at or near Emory
Grove Camp Meeting Association Grounds, which bill re-
ceived the unfavorable consideration of this Body.

Mr. Longwell submitted the following response :
BY THE SENATE,
March 8, 1872.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
We have received your message asking the return of
Senate bill, entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of licen-
ses for the sale of spirituous liquors at or near Emory
Grove Camp-Meeting Association Grounds, and respectfully
return the same.

AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,
Secretary.
Which was read, concurred in and sent to the House of
Delegates. -
Mr. Stephenson from a Select Committee, to which had
been referred,
The House bill, entitled an Act to authorize R. H. Smith
and others, to build a bridge in Harford county,
Reported said bill with the following amendments :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1. Amend by striking out all from and including
the word "navigable," in line 9, to the end of said section,
and insert the following in lieu thereof, viz: main channel of
said narrows of sufficient width and proportions, as will
