Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which leave had been granted, reported The bill, entitled an Act to release Stephen J. Brady, and others, securities on the bonds of Noah O. Merchant, late Collector of Taxes, for Election District No. 1., in Queen Anne's county, from the payment of interest upon their pay- ment of the principal due by said Collector. Which was read the first time. Also, from the same Committee, reported The bill, entitled an Act to pay to John Bagggs, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot county, a sum of money as com- missions on money collected for the State. Which was read the first time. Also, from the same Committee, reported The bill, entitled an Act to transfer the gum of money ap- propriated by chapter 383, section 1, Acts of General As- sembly of 1870, to the Elkton and Masseys Railroad Com- pany, from said Company, to the Middletown and Elkton Railroad Company. Which was read the first time. Also, from the same Committee, to which had been re- ferred, The House bill, entitled an Act to refund to the Western National Bank of Baltimore, certain taxes paid in error. Reported favorably thereon, and said bill was read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, to which had been re- ferred, The House bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claims of Daniel M. Thomas and others. Reported favorably thereon, and said bill was then read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, reported A bill, entitled an Act to pay O. C.
