On motion by Mr. Tuck,
The said report was postponed until Tuesday, 19th inst.,
and made the order of the day for 12 o'clock that day.
Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which had
been referred
The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 18, of
Article LVI, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Licenses," sub-title "Fisheries and Horse Races," and re-
enact the same so as to read as follows,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
Mr. Miller presented the petion of R. O. Lewis and three
hundred and one other citizens of Cecil county, asking the
passage of an Act transferring the State appropriation from
Elkton and Massey's Railroad Company to the Middletown
and Elkton Railroad Company.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finances
On motion by Mr. Miller,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill, to be entitled an Act to transfer the sum of money
appropriated by chapter 383, section, 1, Acts of General Assembly of 1870, to the Elkton and Massey's Railroad Com-
pany, from said Company to the Middletown and Elkton
Railroad Company.
On motion by Mr. Downs,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Downs, Davis and Steiner
to introduce a bill to repeal section 50, of Article
XVIII., of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
county, title "Leonardtown," and to re-enact the same with
amendments ; also, to add new sections to said Law.
The hour of 2 o'clock having arrived, Mr. Claggett called
up the order of the day, being
The hill returned by his Excellency, the Governor, with
his objections, entitled an Act directing the County Commis-
sioners of Washington county to build a new Court House
in said county, and to appoint Commissioners to build the
same.
The President stated the question before the Senate to be :
"Shall the bill pass, the objections of the Governor to the
contrary notwithstanding?"
Three-fifths of all the Senators having voted in the affir-
mative,
