Which was read the first time, and, On motion by Mr. Jump, Ordered to be printed. Also, from the same Committee, to which had been re- ferred The memorial of forty-one citizens of Harford county, praying the passage of a law to pay to each person who fur- nished a substitute, during the late war, the sum of $300,00 from the State Treasury, Reported unfavorably thereon. The yeas and nays being called, the report was adopted as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Miller, Blake, Stephenson, Compton, Spates, Carroll, Sellman, Dennis, Spencer, Earle, Steiner, Fields, Timmons, Henry, Tuck, Jump, Williams—19. Longwell, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Also, from the same Committee, to which had been re- ferred The Senate bill, entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to establish and incorporate the Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb of the State of Maryland; and also to an Act passed at January Session, 1868, chapter 409, entitled an Act to amend, and add additional sections to the Act of 1867, chapter 247 ; also, to an Act passed at January Session, 1870, chapter 422, enti- tled an Act supplementary to the Act passed at the January Session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to establish an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb of the State of Maryland, and its supplements, Reported unfavorably thereon. |
