348 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 6, The Senate bill, entitled an Act supplementary to an Act for the establishment of a School in Caroline County, passed November Session, 1798, chapter 33, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to which had been referred The House bill, entitled an Act to amend the Act incor- porating the Western Maryland Railroad Company, Reported said bill with the following amendments : AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Sec. 4.—Add after the word "Baltimore," in the 10th line: or any other municipal authority in this State. Add, after the word, "Baltimore," in line 12, section 4, the words: or any other city in this State. Add to section 13, in line 2, after the word "passage :" the Legislature reserves to itself the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act at pleasure. Which were adopted. Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time. On motion by Mr. Denson, The Senate adjourned. WEDNESDAY, March 6th, 1872 The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Mr. Southgate. Present at roll call, the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Claggett, Denson, Davis, Downs, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck, Wilson and Williams—24. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. |
