Messrs. Compton, Henry,
Denson, Stephenson—4.
Said message was then sent to the House of Delegates,
Mr.-Tuck, from a Select Committee, to which had been re-
ferred
The House hill, entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to divide the elec-
tion districts into election precincts,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
Mr. Wilson moved a call of the Senate, when the follow-
ing Senators answered :
Messrs. President, Blake, Carroll, Downs, Earle, Jump,
Longwell, Stephenson, Spencer, Steiner, Wilson—11.
The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify the absent mem-
bers that their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.
On motion by Wilson,
All further proceedings under the call were dispensed
with.
Mr. Wilson, from a Select Committee, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to regulate the pay of State's At-
torneys in Prince George's county.
Which was read the first time.
Also, from the same Committee,
A bill, entitled an Act giving the consent of the State of
Maryland to the purchase by the United States of land on
the Potomac river, in Prince George's county, lor the site of
Fort Foote, and the erection of fortifications thereon.
Which was read the first time, and
Ordered to be printed.
Mr. Spencer, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
been granted, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of any
election district or ward, to determine, by ballot, whether or
not drinking houses shall be licensed to sell liquor in such
district.
Which was read the first time, and
Ordered to be printed.
