Mr. Claggett presented the' petition of numerous citizens
of Washington county, praying the passage of an optional
liquor law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
Mr. Davis presented the petition of B. G. Keene and
eighty other citizens of Baltimore county, asking the pas-
sage of an Act requiring the Harford Turnpike Company to
keep their road in a good condition, and to direct proper
toll-gates to be erected thereon.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Davis, Steiner
and Stephenson.
Mr. Steiner presented the petition of W. M. Farguson and
ninety three other citizens of Union Bridge, Carroll county,
praying the passage of laws restricting the sale of spirituous
liquors within the the limits of said town.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Mr, Claggett presented the" petition of citizens of Wash-
ington county, to prohibit catching bass fish except by hook
and line.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Claggett, Steiner
and Spates.
Mr. Earle presented the memorial of N. V. Dudley and
other citizens of Queen Anne's county, relating to the sale
of spirituous liquors.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Mr. Fields presented the petition of Catharine Neal, ask-
ing a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
Mr. Clagget presented a petition to extend the limits of
corporation of the town of Boonsboro'. ,
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Claggett, Stephenson and Crawford.
On motion by Mr. Timmons,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Timmons, Longwell and
Miller to introduce a bill to require the Commissioners of
Worcester county to levy a sum of money to pay the Crier
and Bailiffs of the Circuit Court of Worcester county.
On motion by Mr. Blake,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Blake and Denson to intro-
