Mr. Stephenson, from a Select Committee, to which leave had been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to more particularly define the pow- ers and duties of the 0 County Commissioners of Harford! county, in adjusting and levying for claims against said county. Which was read the first time. The Hon, J. Thomson Mason, Secretary of State, appeared and delivered several communications from His Excellency > Governor Whyte, endorsed "Executive Business." On motion by Mr. Denson, The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive- business. Having resumed Legislative business, On motion by Mr. Fields, The Senate adjourned. WEDNESDAY, February 21st, 187?. The Senate met. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Southgate. Present the following Senators : Messrs. President. Compton, Carroll, Crawford, Claggett, Denson, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Longwell, Miller, Spates, Sellman, Steiner, Timmons, Wilson, Williams—18. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. Mr. Williams presented the petition of Susan M. Becket, asking a pension. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen- sions. |
