FRIDAY, February 16th, 1872.
The Senate met.
Prayer by Rev. Mr. Highley.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Claggett,
Denson, Downs, Dennis, Jump, Longwell, Miller, Stephen-
son, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Tuck,,
Wilson, Williams—20. *
The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
Mr. Stephenson presented the petition of twenty-three
citizens of Harford county, praying that the name of Mrs
Hannah Wanna be entered on the pension rolls.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen
sions.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill, entitled an Act to allow a pension to Elizabeth
Hollenberger, a widow of a soldier of the war of 1812.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,
Leave was granted to (he Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill, entitled an Act to add a section to Article LVI.
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to licenses.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 63,
of Article XVI. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Chancery," sub-title "Jurisdiction," and to amend and
re-enact the same.
On motion by Mr. Timmons,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Timmons, Miller and Long-
well to introduce a bill to change the name of Sandy Hill
District, No. 8, of Worcester county, to Stockton District,
No. 8.
Mr. Claggett presented the petition of the President and
Managers and Company of the Boonsboro' Turnpike Com-
pany, to change the charter.
Which was road and referred to the Committee on Corporations
