The petition of J. W. Knotts, and forty-four others, in
relation to the same,
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
Mr. Denson presented the petition of the Maryland Col-
lege of Pharmacy, asking the enactment of laws preventing
incompetent persons from conducting business as Pharma-
ceutists.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Denson, Blake
and Steiner.
Mr. Dennis presented the petition of Southy F. Miles, and
sixty others, asking an appropriation for a public school.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
On motion by Mr. Jump,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to pre-
pare and report a bill to authorize the Comptroller to pay
John Baggs, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot county,
commissions on a sum of money paid into the Treasury of
the State.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings to introduce a bill to repeal section 16, of Article
XXXVIII., Code of Public General Laws, so far as the
same relates to Talbot county, and to add an additional section to Article XX., Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
<( Talbot county."
On motion by Mr. Denson,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Denson. Blake and Steiner
to introduce a bill to repeal an Act, passed January Session
1870, entitled an Act to prevent incompetent persons from
conducting the business of druggist or apothecary in the City
of Baltimore, and to re-enact the following in lieu thereof.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to which
leave had been granted, reported
A bill, entitled a further supplement to an Act entitled an
Act to incorporate the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River
The- Water Canal Company, passed January Session, 1866,
chapter 173, and to extend the time for completing the said
canal.
