The Committee on Judicial Proceedings was excused from
further consideration of said petition.
Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Internal Improvements,
to which leave had been granted, reported a bill entitled an
Act to amend the Act of 1853, chapter 88, entitled an Act
to incorporate tie Pittsburg and Connellsville Railroad Com-
pany, in the State of Maryland, by changing the name of
said company to that of, the Pittsburg, Washington &
Baltimore Railroad Company.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Williams, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to which had been referred Senate bill entitled an Act
to repeal and re-enact section 141, also to repeal section 143,
also to repeal section 147, and in place thereof and to change
the number of sections of Article XVI., Code of Public
General Laws, to the Chancery Testimony and Witnesses,
Reported unfavorably thereon,
And the report was adopted.
Mr. Henry, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which had been referred House bill entitled an Act to
amend chapter 126, of the Laws passed January Session,
1870, entitled an Act to authorize the Faculty and' Board of
Trustees of the Washington University, in Baltimore, to use
the real estate of said University, situated on the corner of
Calvert and Saratoga, streets, in Baltimore City, as a basis of
credit, to raise money thereon,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporation, to which
leave had been granted, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal, amend and re-enact a
portion of section 2, of chapter 186, passed March 28th,
1868, entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland Union
Coal Company.
Which was read the first time.
Also,
A bill, entitled an Act further amendatory of the Act en-
titled an Act to incorporate the Lonaconing Ocean Coal
Mining and Transportation Company, parsed January Ses-
sion, 1853, chapter 192, as already amended by a change of
the name of said corporation to the name of said corporations,
to the Ocean Steam Coal Company, by the Act of 1856,,
chapter 136. '
