174 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 8, Senate bill, entitled an Act to pay Somerville Sollers, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert county, a sum of money, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 93 of Article LXXXI, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled " Revenue and Taxes," and to enact the following in lieu thereof, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, ' Longwell, Blake, Stephenson, Carroll, Sellman, Crawford, Spencer, Claggett, Timmons, Earle, Wilson, Fields, Williams—14.- NEGATIVE—Mr. Spates—1. Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which leave- had been granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments, section 24, of Article XCIV. of the Code of Public General Laws. Which was read the first time. On motion by Mr. Earle, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to report a bill to release Stephen J. Medly, Samuel Philips, and Dr. Washington Finley, Administrators of Lemuel Roberts, securities on the bond of Noah C. Merchant, late Collector of State and County Taxes, in the First Election District of Queen Anne's county, from payment of interest, provided. they shall pay into the Treasury of the State, the balance that may be due on the official loans of the said Merchant, last day of June of the current year. Mr. Earle, from a Select Committee, to which leave had been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to supply Codes and supplements of certain civil officers in Queen Anne's and Kent counties.
