Mr. Claggett presented the petition of Robert Bridget, and others, for the amendment of the charter of incorporation of the town of Hancock, in Washington county. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor- porations. The Senate bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Calvert county to subscribe to the capital stock of the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad Company, Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. OB motion by Mr. Carroll, The Senate adjourned. THURSDAY, February 8. 1872. The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Dr. Bull. Present at roll call, the following Senators. Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford, Claggett, Denson, Davis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Longwell, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Steiner, Timmons, Wilson, Williams—19. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
