tue of which said judgdments were made, in pursuauce of an
order of the Senate, dated January 5th, 1872.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
The vote by which the petition of Mrs. S. H. Andersen,
O. E. Jarrell. and others, was referred to a Select Committee
of which he was Chairman,
Was reconsidered, and
On motion by Mr. Fields,
The said petition was referred, to the Committee on Agri-
culture.
Mr. Steiner presented the petition of A. H. Huber, and
two hundred and sixty two other citizens of Carroll county,
praying the General Assembly to pass a law giving the peo-
ple the right to elect School Commissioners.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.
Mr. Spencer, presented the petition of W. A. Vickers, and
three hundred and twenty-lour other citizens of Kent county,
praying the passage of an optional liquor law. ,
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ju-
dicial Proceedings.
Mr. Stephenson, presented the memorial of twenty-seven
citizens of Harford county, asking a repeal of the Act of
1870, chapter 418, repealing the Inspection Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
On motion by Mr. Longwell, it was
Ordered, That the Committee on Finance inquire into the
Propriety of levying a tax on premiums received by Foreign
Insurance Companies, transacting business in this State.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill, to amend an Act, incorporating the Balli- '
more yearly meeting of the Society of Friends.
