Ordered, That the Comptroller be requested to obtain and
furnish to the Senate, as soon as practicable, the amount of
State taxes assessed and collected for the years 1870 and
1871 on the stock and property of the several railroad com-
panies of this State, as required by the Act of Assembly of
1870, chapter 362.
Mr. Blake submitted the petition of Mary A. Harrington,
asking to be placed on the pension rolls.
Also,
The petition of May Wineuger, asking the same.
Also,
The petition of Francis A. Lambdin, asking the same.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee-
on Pensions.
Mr. Claggett submitted the petition ©of Sarah A. Sook, of
Washington county, asking to have her name properly placed
on the pension rolls.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Davis submitted the petition of Wm, Peddicord, a sol-
dier of the war of 1812, praying relief.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
ions.
On motion by Mr. Davis,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to pre-
pare and report a bill, entitled an Act for the relief of Wm.
Peddicord, a citizen of Baltimore county.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered the following : .
The House bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 215, of
Article IV. of the Code of Public Local Laws title "Balti-
more," sub-title '-Elections," and enact the following in
lieu thereof.
Which was read the first time, and referred to the Sena-
tors from Baltimore City.
Also,
The House bill, entitled an Act to amend chapter 126, of
the laws passed January Session, 1870, entitled an Act to
authorize the Faculty and Board of Trustees of the Washing-
ton University of Baltimore, to use the real estate of said
University as a basis of credit to raise a sum of money for
the use of said University.
