Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 117 and 121, of Article I. of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, relating to the town of Oakland in said county, and to substitute in lieu of sections 117 and 121 the following, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Williams, Leave was granted to Messrs. Williams, Tuck and Clag- gett to report a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of Calvert county to subscribe to the capital stock of the Bal- timore and Drum Point Railroad Company, and to issue the bonds of the county in payment of said stock. On motion by Mr. Tuck, Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to re- port a bill, entitled an Act to grant a pension to Wm. H. Baldwin, an officer in the navy during the war of 1812. On motion 'by Mr. Tuck, it was Ordered, that the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries inquire into the expediency of repealing so much of the Code of Public General Laws, Article LXXI, title " Oysters," as requires Tongmen to take out licenses, and to report such amendment of said Article as will more effectually prevent illegal dredging. Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 93 of Article LXXXI. of the Code of Public Genera] Laws, entitled "Re- venue and Taxes," and to enact the following in lieu thereof, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill, entitled a supplement to an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland State Bible Society, passed at December Session, 1842, chapter 290, and to change the name of said corporation to the Maryland Bible Society, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill, entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed Janu- ary Session, 1870, chapter 11, entitled an Act to repeal sec- tion 204 of Article XXI. of the Code of Public Local Laws lor Washington county, relating to Justices of the Peace and Constables in said county, Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, an follows: |
