Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. Longwell, from a Special Committee, to which leave had been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Union Bridge, in Carroll county. Which was read the first time. Mr. Blake, from a Select Committee, to which had been referred House bill, entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City to subscribe to the amount of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars to the capital stools of the Maryland Central Railroad Company, Reported unfavorably thereon, and the report was adopted. Mr. Henry, from a Special Committee, to which leave had 'been granted, reported A bill, entitled an Act to amend the Act passed at Janu- ary Session, 1858, chapter 201, entitled an Act to incorpo- rate and endow the Cambridge Female Academy, so as to change the name of the said corporation to that of the Cam- bridge Female Seminary. Which was read the first time. Mr. Claggett presented the petition of Messrs. Mayant and McCardell, asking arrears of pensions. Also, The petition of Jonathan Kersham, asking a pension. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Senate bill, entitled an Act to add an additional section to the Public Local Laws of Allegany county, and to repeal sections 24, 25 and 26 thereof, and re-enact the same with amendments, Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill, entitled an Act to change the dividing line between the First and Eighth Election Districts of Worces- ter county, |
