Council of Baltimore, entitled an Ordinance for the exten-
sion of Patterson's Park, approved June 23d, 1871,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was then read the second time.
Mr. Davis, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
been granted, reported
A bill, entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at January
Session, 1870, chapter 114, entitled an Act to incorporate
Towsontown, in Baltimore' county.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Spates, from a Select Committee, to which leave had
been granted, reported
A bill, entitled an act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Cumberland to issue bonds for the purpose of pro-
viding for the payment of the debts other than bonded of
said city, and for the extension of water mains throughout
the portions of said city not yet provided therewith.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Spates, from a Select Committee, to which had been
referred
House bill, entitled an Act to alter and amend sections
193, 194, 195, 196, 197, 198 and 199, of Article 1., of the
supplement of 1870, to the Code of Local Laws, under the
head of Allegany comity relating": to birds, and to re-enact
the same, with amendments,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was read the second time.
Mr. Stephenson presented a memorial of David Pyle, of
Harford county, asking that it true meridian line be estab-
lished in Belair, for the purpose of testing the correctness of
surveyors' compasses.
Which was road and referred to Messrs. Stephenson,
Claggett and Fields.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of J. N. Benjamin,
Jacob Klein, Elizabeth McCullough and two hundred and
eighty-nine other citizens of Cecil county, asking the passage of a, law to enable the voters of any ward or election dis-
trict to determine whether drinking saloons may not be
licensed within suvh ward or district.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
