Messrs, Stephenson—"1. Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr Fields, The Renal,? adjourned. WEDNESDAY, January 31, 1872. Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Rev. Father Freitag. Present at roll call the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Carroll, Crawford, Glaggett, Denson, Davis, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Long- well, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Steiner, Tim- mons, Wilson—20. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. Mr. Blake submitted the petition of Kirkland, Chase & Co., Wood; Weeks & Co., and others, asking that Life In- surance Companies, doing business in the State of Maryland, be required to invest the net reserve in Maryland. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi- nance. Mr. Spates presented the petition of one hundred and four citizens of Allegany county, asking a division of said county. |
