Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Father Freitag.
Present at roll call the following Senators :
Messrs. President, Blake, Carroll, Crawford, Glaggett,
Denson, Davis, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Long-
well, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Steiner, Tim-
mons, Wilson—20.
The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.
Mr. Blake submitted the petition of Kirkland, Chase &
Co., Wood; Weeks & Co., and others, asking that Life In-
surance Companies, doing business in the State of Maryland,
be required to invest the net reserve in Maryland.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.
Mr. Spates presented the petition of one hundred and four
citizens of Allegany county, asking a division of said county.
