1872.] OF THE SENATE. 105.
sion to Elizabeth Rye, of Washington county, widow of a
soldier of the war of 1812, supplemental to the Act of 1870,
chapter 477.
Mr. Wilson presented the petition of Margaret Wotton,
of Prince George's county, asking to be placed on the pension
rolls.
Which was road, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Fields, on the part of the Committee on Printing, sub-
mitted the following report of the Joint Committee on Printing, to the Senate and House of Delegates.
REPORT.
ANNAPOLIS, January 24th, 1872.
The undersigned. Chairmen of the Joint Committee on
Printing, are instructed to make the following Report, with
the accompanying proposal of Messrs. S. Sands Mills and L.
F. Col ton, to do the public printing tor the Session of 1872,
of the General Assembly of Maryland.
It is the judgment of your committee, that the sum of thirty-eight thousand dollars is a reasonable estimate for the
whole work, as it includes the printing which has been. al-
ready finished, and all printing yet. to be done as ordered by
the Senate and House of Delegates, together with any other
printed matter in English, which has not been specified, and
may be ordered for the Session, the same being approved by
the Joint Committee on Printing.
Your committee recommend the acceptance of the proposition of Messrs. S. Sands Mills and L. F. Cotton, for doing
the printing work for the Session of 1872, as this sum is
$2,000 less than the previous Session, and a greater increase
of printing matter, there being 2000 copies of the laws instead
of 1000.
Your committee also state, that after waiting eight days,
that there was but one proposition before them, tor doing the
printing.
All of which is respectfully submitted,
.DANIEL FIELDS,
Chairman Joint Corn. on Printing.
W. T. MARKLAND,
Chairman House Com on Printing.
