Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to prepare and report a bill, entitled an Act to amend
the attachment laws of tin's State so as to extend the same to
cases in Equity.
On motion by Mr. Jump,
Leave was granted to the Committee oil Judicial Proceedings to prepare and report, a Liii, extending (lie jurisdiction
of Magistrates, of Talbot county, to cases of assault and
battery.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to pre-
pare and report a bill, to provide for the payment of a pension
to Jane Chancy, of Washington county, widow of a soldier
of the war of 1812, supplemental to the Act of 1870, chapter
477.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to pre-
pare and report a bill, to provide for the payment, of a pen-
sion to Joseph Barkdoll, a soldier of the war of 1812, sup
plemental to the Act. of 1860, chapter 477.
Mr, Miller asked leave for the Committee on Finance to
introduce a bill, authorizing the appointment of Weighers
of Grain and Measurers of Lumber by the Governor.
Which was granted.
On motion by Mr. Earle,
The vote by which said leave was referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance,
Was reconsidered.
Mr. Earle moved to refer the said leave to the Committee
on Agriculture,
Which, upon vote,
Was determined in the negative.
Mr. Stephenson moved to refer the sail leave to the Select
Committee on Inspections.
Which was determined in the negative.
The said leave was then referred to the Committee OB.
