92 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 24, The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv- ered the following messages : BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, January 23d, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate : We respectfully propose, with your concurrence, that a Joint Committee of one on the part of the Senate and two on the part of the House be appointed to examined and cancel all coupons of the bonds of the Slate of MaryLand that have already been paid and are now in the hands of the Treasurer. We have appointed on the part of the House Messrs. Stone and Duvall. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, January 23d, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate: We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint Committee, consisting of three on the part of the House and two on the part of the Senate, to confer upon the proposed Senate Action adopting an amend- ment to House Resolutions, entitled Resolutions to authorize the Governor to employ additional counsel, if, in his judg- ment, the same may be necessary to defend the Plate's inter- est in the suits now pending in the Territory of Columbia between W. W. Corcoran and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, which amendment the House has refused to concur ill. We have appointed on the yet of the House Mews. Streett, Stone and Groome.
