section; and to repeal the 10th section of the Act passed at
January Session, 1870, chapter 439, entitled an Act to amend
an Act passed December Session, 1845, chapter 37, entitled
an Act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company of
Washington county, and the several acts supplemental thereto,
and amendatory thereof, and to amend and re-enact the said
10th section.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Davis, from a Select Committee to which had been re-
ferred House bill, entitled an Art. to repeal section 5 of an
Act entitled an Act, to incorporate the Western Avenue Com-
pany, passed January Session, 1860, chapter 112, and to re-
enact the following in lieu thereof,
Reported favorably thereon.
Said bill was then read the second time.
Senate bill, entitled an Act to make valid certain bequests
in the last will and testament of Mary C. Reynolds, late of
Frederick County, deceased,
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
Senate bill, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay Thomas J. Twilley, tax collector ('or Sharpstown dis-
trict, in Wicomico County, fur overpayment into the Treasury
for the years 1868 and 1869,
Was read the second time and referred to the Committee on
Finance.
Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported a bill,
entitled an Act to exempt from city and State taxation the
real and personal property of the Improved Order of Red Men,
of Baltimore City.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Steiner submitted the third annual report of (lie Maryland Institution for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb,
Which was referred to the Committee on Education.
On motion by Mr. Williams,
The Senate adjourned.
