Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance. On motion of Mr. Williams, One hundred copies of slid Report were ordered to be printed. [See Document F.] Mr. Miller presented petitions from Elizabeth Davidson and others, asking pensions. Which were read, and referred to the Committee on Pen- sions. Mr. Stephenson presented the petition of twenty-four citi- zens of Harford county, praying that the name of Jemima Preston be entered on the pension rolls. On motion by Mr. Stephenson, it was Ordered, That the Committee on Judicial Proceedings inquire into and report upon the expediency of returning to Executors and Administrators final receipts, releases and discharges, and powers of attorney, after they have been re- corded by a Register of Wills. On motion by Mr. Williams, it was Ordered, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be re- quested to furnish to the Senate a statement of the amount expended by the State in purchasing and building the State Tobacco Warehouses and wharves attached thereto. On motion by Mr. Claggett, Leave was granted to Messrs. Claggett, Crawford and Stephenson, to prepare and report a bill to repeal section 16, of the Act passed at December Session, 1845, chapter 37, entitled an Act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Com- pany of Washington County, an'! amend and re-enact the said section, and to repeal the tenth section of the Act passed at the January Session, 1870, chapter 439, entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at December Session, 184.'), chapter 37, entitled an Act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Company of Washington County, and the several Acts sup- plementary thereto, and amendatory thereof, and to amend and re-enact the said tenth section. On motion by Mr. Claggett, Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to pre- pare and report a bill to provide for the payment to Samuel Lutz, of Washington county, a soldier of the war of 1812, |
