Mr. Steiner moved to amend by striking out all from the word "that" in the first line of Section 6, to the word "with" in the fourth line of the same section; and insert "The Board of County Commissioners be endowed." Which was determined in the negative. The bill was then read the second time, and Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Stephenson moved to suspend the rules, so as to give a second reading to the bill, entitled an Act to legalize the bequest of Mrs. Ann Stump, late of Harford county, to the Deer Creek Harmory Church of Harford county. The yeas and nays being; called, as required by Section 27, of Article III. of the Constitution, appeared as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Longwell, Compton, Miller, Carroll, Stephenson, Craw ford, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Denson, Spencer, Davis, Steiner, Downs, Timmons, Earle, Wilson, Fit Ids, Wiliiams—20. NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then read the second time, and Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Fields, The Senate preceded to the consideration of Executive busi- ness. The Senate having resumed the consideration of Legislative easiness. On motion by Wilson, The Senate adjourned. |
