66 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDING? [Jan. 18,
hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this order to
the President of the said Canal Company at Frederick City,
Maryland.
On motion by Mr. Wilson, it was
Ordered, That the Committee on Judicial Proceedings inquire into the expediency of repealing no nine1! of section 21,
part 3, of Article IV. of the Constitution as provides for
"Intermediate Terms" of the Circuit Courts of this State.
On motion by Mr. Carroll,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
prepare and report a bill, entitled a supplement to an Act to incorporate the Germania Library Association of Baltimore,
passed at December Session, 1841, chapter 37.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Claggett, Stephenson and
Fields, to prepare and report a bill, to rescind Resolution
No. 46, of 1811, relating to the Hagerstown Academy, and
Resolution No. 7, of 1845, and to re enact the same with
amendments.
Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on-Judicial Proceedings,
to which had been referred the Senate bill, entitled an Act
to permit Frederick Charles Edmund Petre, an alien, to hold
certain real estate,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill being on its second reading,
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
It was ordered to lie over.
Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to which had been referred Senate bill entitled an Act giv-
ing the sanction of the General Assembly of Maryland to
certain legacies bequeathed by the last will and testament, of
George Williams, (colored,) late of Frederick county, deceased, to the Trustees of the Asbury African Methodist
Episcopal Church in Frederick City, Maryland,
Reported favorably thereon, and
Said bill was then read the first time.
Mr. Williams, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to winch leave had been granted, reported a bill, enti-
tled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter
44, of the Act of 1870, entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 170, Article XXX., Public Gene-
ral Laws, entitled "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title
-"Rivers."
