The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered the following message : BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, January 17th, 1872. Gentlemen of the Senate : We respectfully invite your Honorable Body to convene with this House in Joint Assembly, at twelve o clock, meri- dian, this day, in accordance with the Act of Congress of the Session of 1865-6, chapter 245, entitled "An Act to regulate the times and manner of holding elections for Sen- ators in Congress." By order, MILTON Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Which was read. Joint Resolution authorizing the Governor to employ ,id- ditional counsel in the case of W. W. Corcoran vs. the Chesa- peake and Ohio Canal Company, Was read the third time, and, On motion by Mr. Davis, The further consideration of said resolutions was postponed until Thursday, 18th instant- Mr. Tuck submitted the following message : By THE SENATE, January 17th, 1872. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We have received your message inviting this Body to con- vene with the House of Delegates in Joint Assembly, at 12 o'clock, M., this day, in accordance with the Act of Congress, entitled" Au Act to legulate the times and manner of holding elections for Senators in Congress," and will attend at the hour indicated. By order, AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY, Secretary. Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Delegates. |
