Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to intro-
duce a bill, to provide for the payment to Thomas C. Nicol,
of Talbot county, a soldier of the war of 1812, arrears of
pension lost by accidental omission of his name from the Act
of 1870, chapter 477.
On motion by Mr. Jump,
The Senate adjourned.
MONDAY, January 15, 1872.
Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by Rev. Mr. Southgate.
The following Senators answered at roll call:
Messrs. President, Compton, Crawford, Denson, Davis,
Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Longwell, Stephen-
son, Spates, Spencer, Steiner, Timmons, Wilson, "Wil-
liams—19.
Journal of Friday was read and approved.
. Mr. Timmons submitted a petition from J. H. Miller and
others, praying the repeal of the law regulating the length
of fishing nets to be used on the waters of Synapuxent hay,
which was read and referred to the Committee on. Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
prepare and report a bill to introduce a bill, entitle,], a sup-
plement to an Act to incorporate the Lutheran Congregations of St. Paul's, Christ's, St. Matthews and Mt. Zion's
Lutheran Churches in Frederick county, passed at December
Session, 1849, chapter 310.
On motion by Mr. Crawford,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Crawford, Stephenson, and
Fields to prepare and report a bill to appropriate a sum of
money to pay Thomas J. Twilley, tax collector for Sharp-
town district, Wicomico county, for over payment into the
treasury fur the year 1868 and 1869.
On motion by Mr. Jump,
