'1872.] OF THE SENATE 43
The further consideration of said preamble and resolution
was postponed until Tuesday, the 16th inst.
Senate bill No. 4, entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
passed January Session, 1870, chapter 2,
Was 1-1 ad a second time, and
Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
Senate bill, entitled an Act to confirm and approve an Act
passed January Session, 1870, chapter 2,
Was read a second time, and
Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
'On motion by Mr. Carroll, it was
Ordered, That when the Senate adjourn it adjourn to meet
on Monday next, at 11 o'clock.
On motion by Mr. Henry,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Henry, Blake and Stephenson,
to introduce a bill to amend the Act of 1858, Chapter 201,
entitled "an Act to incorporate and endow the Cambridge
Female Academy," so as to change the name of the corporation to that of, Cambridge Female Seminary.
Leave of absence was granted to Senators Claggett and
Sellman for a few days.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and delivered
the following message :
BY THE HOUSE of DELEGATES,
January 11, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body
the appointment of a Joint Committee) consisting of three
members of the House of Delegates and two members of the
Senate, to inform the Hon. John W. Davis of his election of
State Treasurer for two years, from and after the day of Ins
qualification as such.
We have appointed, on the part of the House, Messrs.
Streett, Litzinger and Foster.

Chief Clerk.

Ordered to lay on the table.
