Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to prepare and report a bill the > repeal section 6 of Article
XXIX. of the Code of Public General Laws entitled
"Courts, ' and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion by Mr. Williams,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to pre-
pare and report a bill to provide for the distribution among
the tobacco growing counties of the net revenues arising
from the inspectors of tobacco.
Mr. Denson, from a Select Committee to which leave had.
been granted, reported a bill, entitle I an Act to further amend
the charter of the Baltimore Fell's Point Hebrew Friendship
congregation in the city of Baltimore.
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported a bill, entitled an Act to change the name of the
" Children's Aid Society of Baltimore" to the name "The
Henry Watson Children's Aid Society of Baltimore.''
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Steiner, from a Select Committee to which leave had
been granted, reported a bill, entitled an Act supplemental to
the Act of 1870, chapter 58, entitled " An Act to authorize
the County Commissioners of Frederick county to build a
new Almshouse for Frederick county, and to borrow money
on the credit of the county for that purpose."
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Stephenson, from a Select Committee, submitted (he
following
REPORT.
The Select Committee, to whom was referred the Message
of the Governor, for the purpose of reporting the reference
of its several parts to appropriate Committees, respectfully
report:
That part of said Message, embraced under the heads of
"Finances of the State,"
"Corporations and Bank Returns to the Comptroller,"
"Other Railroads,"
"Chesapeake and Ohio Canal,"
"Susquehanna and Tide Water Canal,"
"Federal Revenue Tax upon Distributions and Succes-
sions,"
Be referred to the Committee on Finance.
