On motion by Mr. Tuck, The whole subject matter was laid on the table. J. Thomson Mason, Secretary of State, appeared with a communication from His Excellency, Governor Whyte. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow- ing message: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, January 11th,1872. Gentlemen of the Senate : We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body to proceed to the election of State Treasurer, in accordance with the message of your Honorable Body acceded to by this House. We have nominated, on the; part. of firs House, Messrs. John W. Davis, of Baltimore City, and Joseph Shriver, of Allegany county. By order, MILTON Y. KIDD; Chief Clerk. Mr. Dennis submitted the following message : BY THE SENATE, January 11th, 1872, Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: The hour of 2 o'clock having arrived, we are prepared to go into the election of a State Treasurer.
