On motion by Mr. Blake, *
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to prepare and report a bill to be entitled, an Act to pre-
scribe the manner of holding Post Mortem Examinations.
On motion by Mr. Tuck,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Tuck, Miller and Stephenson,
to prepare and report a bill to be entitled, an Act to limit the
amount of stationery to be furnished to members and officers
of the Legislature.
On motion by Mr. Steiner,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Steiner, Jump and Downs, to-
prepare and report a bill to be entitled, an Act to permit
Frederick Charles Edmund Petre a claim to hold certain real
estate.
On motion by Mr. Earle,
Leave was granted to Messrs Earle, Henry and Dennis, to
prepare and report a bill to be entitled, an Act to repeal the Act
of eighteen hundred and seventy, Chapter 189, providing for
the protection of sheep in Queen Anne's, Dorchester and Som-
erset counties, and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion by Mr. Williams,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Williams, Spencer and Dennis, to prepare and report a bill repealing Chapter 299 of
the Act of 1868, relating to Public Roads, and enacting a
substitute therefor.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message:
BY THE HOUSE or DELEGATES,
January 4, 1872.
Gentlemen of {he Senate:
The House of Delegates has organized by the election of
Hon. Arthur P. Gorman as Speaker, and Milton Y. Kidd,
Esqr., as Chief Clerk. We are now ready to proceed with
the business of the Session, and propose, with the concur-
rence of your Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint
Committee, consisting of three members on the part of the
House, and two on the part of the Senate, to wait upon His
Excellency, the Governor, and inform him that the General
Assembly is prepared to receive any communication he may
be pleased to make. We have appointed on the part of this
House, Messrs. Griswold, Stone and Porter.
