1872.J OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 157 Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to legalize the supplements to the Maryland Code containing the Acts of the Genera] Assembly parsed at the; Sessions of 1868 and 1870, arranged in articles and sec- tions to correspond with the Code as published by J. Murphy <& Co., and to appropriate a sum of money for the purchase oi supplements to the Code and to regulate their distribution. On motion of Mr. Streett, The House proceeded to the consideration of the order adopted on yesterday, instructing the Select Committee on the Frederick County Almshouse to report this day, Pending which, On motion of Mr. Streett, The further consideration thereof was postponed. Mr. Dougherty, from the Committee on Ways and Means, reported favorably, A bill. entitled an Act to complete the Worcester and Somerset Railroad. Said bill being upon a second reading, Mr. Franklin submitted the following amendment: Add at the end of the second section, the words: " But the Board of Public Works shall be empowered to appoint, two Directors of said Company, on the part; of the State " Which was adopted. The bill, as amended, was then read a second time, and. Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Mr. Stone, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means, reported A bill, entitled an Act to add an additional section to Article LXXXI. of the Code of Public General Laws (if this State, title " Revenue and Taxes," under the substitute, . <1 Assessment of Stocks for Stale purposes," and asked that the bill be printed and recommitted. The bill was ordered to be printed and recommitted to the Committee on Ways and Means.
